Political touch: Gay Leaders
Furious with Obama
Yahoo! News- Barack Obama’s choice of a prominent evangelical minister to deliver the invocation at his inauguration is a conciliatory gesture toward social conservatives who opposed him in November, but it is drawing fierce challenges from a gay rights movement that – in the wake of a gay marriage ban in California – is looking for a fight.
Rick Warren, the senior pastor of Saddleback Church in southern California, opposes abortion rights but has taken more liberal stances on the government role in fighting poverty, and backed away from other evangelicals’ staunch support for economic conservatism. Local Stand!
Well! A
local Scan
on the
gay scene!
One of Jordan’s Local magazines; Living Well, had published a gay-related article in their December 2008 issue. An article Living Well itself denied its views to be reflecting the magazine's, but reflecting the writer's own.
The article “Closet Confessions”, revealed a very strong light over the gay scene in Amman, reflecting a negative light as well, which you’ll sense while reading. It talked about the local issues of being gay in Jordan, the ways of meeting, the desperate need of sex.
The article, which was obviously written by a foreigner, captured the worst moment of despair toward selective people of the gay community and pinning it on the rest!

Gay Marriage...
Newsweek Magazine goes religiously controversial this month with their cover of a bible with a rainbow bookmark. The article “Our Mutual Joy”, that was titles on the cover: (The Religious Case of Gay Marriage), talks about the case of marriage within the context of religion.
The article opens a big door of discussion on gay-manners and religion lines. It also interferes with this year’s issues toward gay marriage, and discussion critical quotes of leaders toward gay marriage. It seems that the article is far from negativity toward the international gay community and the US in specific. Shining a light on the issue of homosexuality, gay marriage in specific and religion. Make sure to get a copy.
