While high-end cuts and latest trends and brands don’t feed a fashion-lover's appetite no more, but what happens when that fashion lover becomes a fashion hunter? That hunger is on strike from high-ends! And thrall-on by the vintage remixes of the shops people wouldn’t consider stepping a foot in! But why I ask?! People always tell me how much they like certain pieces I wear, once I tell them, I picked it up from Ahmad’s nameless second hand shop near the second circle they get eager to know if what I’m saying is true! And it is! You get the vintage baby…
.
Ahmad is an old man who lives right across the street from his own second hand shop, which oddly doesn’t have a name. He always reads through my personality. I remember the first time I went to his store with my good friend Hannah, he read our future through our birthday digits as we were searching through the dusty racks, “Khalid, you’re a loyal person, but you’re affirmative on your privacy, moody and stubborn when it comes to your own decisions. Your friends respect your personality and they love you unconditionally, am I right Hannah?…” Ahmad said as he read through the written numbers on the piece of paper placed in his crinkled palm. I ended up getting two jumpsuits, a vintage neon-purple jumpsuit with a ruffled collar, which I used twice, once in a shoot for Dutch magazine, 'Join', and it made the cover (Up, right>), and again in 'The Doll-House Theory' shoot at Rima Malallah’s art shop. The other one is a military dark olive baggy jump-suite.
