Signed, Sealed, Stolen
U's Flaws and All...
No shame in the publication game
Swatch had challenged 9 international glossy magazines (US & Europe) on which will do the best shoot, celebrating the launch of Swatch’s new 80’s inspired watches ‘Swatch Color Code’, but squeezing their heads where they shouldn’t have, U magazine is caught sticking their head in a garbage bag, again! Nylon magazine and Dazed & Confused magazine are one of the participant magazines in Swatch's competition. 2 different magazines, 2 different shoots, 1 magazine and it’s stolen ideas!
Just one month away from celebrating their three years anniversary, U Magazine-Jordan, seems to have not been shaken by the first time scandal, (back in May 2008), as this year’s April, 2010 proves to be what U Magazine winning streak is, winning their reputation of imitating and copying international magazines’ work, pretending to be one of the “BIG Sharks”. Careful U, your launching a new trade mark! Again, tsk, tsk, tsk…
Copying You!
In this struggling industry. You would think with all the over occupied position and hired staff they will be able to come up with something somewhat original like the competitive three other shoots in Viva Magazine, Layalina Lifestyle and NOX men, coming with an original concept from start to finish that not only speak to the magazines target market, showing us there is room to be creative after all. U! Hands off of the international stands already!
