How could we reduce such issues from happening; (AIDS, and Child abuse)?
When it comes to AIDS and HIV+, people; teens and young adults, are having sex and no one is talking about it and since its happening whether it’s behind our backs or against our wills, might as well get the right education about it, to be on the safe side. Even though it’s not a cultural custom nor socially acceptable, it’s always better be safe than sorry. Sex education need to be increased, safe sex should be practiced, and drugs should be banned…
And child abuse?
As for child abuse, you may not be able to fix the past, but you could reduce it from happening in the future, to other children, maybe your little brother, niece, or cousin. Care enough to know where your little brother is, where he is playing with his ball, keep a close eye on your cousins or any other children when they come over. And do tell if you know something about a certain situation, cause with your silence you’re damaging some child’s future, and you’re not protecting his childhood innocence.
How does it feel to be part of making this world a better place?
It always feels like it’s not enough. You always want to do more, a little here and little there. But you’ll genuinely feel great about it, that you helped someone. That you tried to make a difference, and at least you answered that question of “Could I?” and being part of this life-time project makes you, actually defines you to be some how of a selfless hero.
Do you actually help old ladies cross the streets and help them with there groceries? Do you actually do that?
You know some people would brag about it to make it into a public show. I usually don’t like to talk about it, but I am going to for one actual reason, to increase the spirit to be a good hearted person and that is “Helping others”. Yes, I do help old people, some times I offer to carry their groceries to the buss or their cars, reach for something, or giving them company. You know, the other day I was looking for a taxi. I reached a spot where an old couple where waiting in the heat under the sun for one as well, so I walked right behind them, so I’ll have my turn right after them, but all those young people where coming all of sudden taking all the cabs, not even looking at them. So I just walked ahead of all the people when I saw a taxi coming, stopped it. He said to me: “Sorry, the girls first”. I was like “NO! My grandparents first!” and I let them in.
Have you always been this socially conscious?
Yes, I always have. I took an interest in such issues earlier in my life, especially pollution and the safety of the environment when I was younger.
In Viva magazine, they described you to be “breathing, talking, smelling, living and sleeping 80s”. In Pulp magazine you wrote about your passion toward that era, and it’s now part of your life. Is your love for the 80s something that will grow with you, or is it just another phase that will drive off?
What that era represents to me, is original beauty, faces that didn’t knew plastic surgery, up beat music that makes you want to dance all the time, endless adolescence, happiness and pure love, jeans vests and untouched eyebrows. This all means something to me, and this isn’t going to be as short as Jessica Simpson’s movie career. But you never know. Now I love it all, and it has been a long time so far. And even if it did, it will still grow up with me, it will stay part of my future life some how, since its part of my life now.
What's his favorites...
(Up) Other than the 1980's, my style icons are Pete Doherty and Kate Moss; they as well have a retro style very similar to mine, which makes it easier to be creative to find new styles. |
(Up): This book "Totally Awesome 80s" really helped me to get the best of the 80s, find all the great music to download, all the good reviews on movies. They have a lot of information on its lifestyle. |
(Up): I love to buy products from The Body Shop stores. They're against animal testing, and i support that, plus they're products always smell good and mostly organic. |
(Up): I love Marcia Cross from desperate housewives where she plays the character "Bree", she makes me feel calm, something about her is very centered... I hated her at the beginning but now I adore her! |
