The Dreamer
Ahmad centers the talking point. The good news? He's romancing a new side of his life, not the other side of the mirror!
I have a theory, Ahmad-Jad, is a nice person! He simply didn’t fell from the wrong tree, neither did the apple! My.Kali loves new faces. And with an “amateur” as he called it, visionary artist , we’re about to develop a new crush! And welcome to the age of the knockouts! A guy with Bee-stung lips, a toned-tanned body, dreamy eyes, and a mole that escaped Cindy’s face to lose it’s way into Ahmad’s! Utterly desirable. In his first My.Kali interview, Ahmad talks about using his pains in his paintings, his miss guided attitude, and his excitement for the present!
“Water or juice?” Ahmad asked, as we were standing there in his spacey kitchen, I viewed the upper garden that was under renovation, admiring the garden, from the window. I reached for the juice, as it was what I wanted, and Ahmad pointed to the corner in the garden “4 years ago, my mom gave me this baby palm tree to throw out, she had given up on it, but instead I went to the garden and planted it, look at it now, look how beautiful it is”. It was then when I saw Ahmad from a different light… “I’m not a professional, but I like to try… or I’m trying. I love Picasso, his style in portraying the images has a very interior touch to them” Ahmad said. Ahmad is studying interior design after all, worked for local interior shops, arranging the displays; he’s also applying his talents into interior-visionaries.
As I held my glass while walking through the house’s corridors, he lead me to another room where he keeps all his paintings that he spent summer nights working on. I passed by the same collection that I ran through in Blue Fig opening to Ahmad’s exhibition, where they viewed the collection. Ahmad knows its amateur work, but he knows the joy of having his work being exhibited in Blue Fig. “In university, people think I’m a drop out, flunking, don’t know what I’m doing… I don’t lead a smart life there… but I find myself engaging in other hobbies outside the walls of university. I do a lot jewelry design which I find myself into” Ahmad said. We viewed some of his latest collection, which were focused on a bold structures, oriental details and very high-end glam, as some seen in ‘Souk Jara’ a summer ago.

Pictures; Up, left: 'Love Pain'. Above: A display Ahmad had arranged in an interior shop, based on a Marylin Monroe, another favorite inspiration to Ahmad. Painting on the left: 'After Sex' an armless woman in love who experienced pain and abandon. "I was in love once... that painting had sampled some of the tears" say Ahmad, referring to the painting 'After Sex', explaining crying while painting it.

But what about painting, does Ahmad find himself through that lane on the long run? “Maybe, for now… I want to master it in a way or another, but it’s not my only passion.” He says. “I find my pain is structured in a lot of my paintings, one that I personally like ‘After Sex’, which is an armless woman on bed with the wind blowing beneath her hair showing her back, speaking of that pain! I was in love once… that painting had sampled some of the tears”.
"people get the wrong impression about me when they first meet me. I don’t have an attitude problem, I walk like I do, but I actually don’t impose what you actually get..."
And we just answered that question on why he doesn’t get involved in conversations that much, the word dumb is underrated, and give this puppy-eyed guy a break “I was raised not to get into conversations I have no clue of. To save face I prefer to be the silent one, not to get into an embarrassing situation is my mission now a days!” As I did confront him with a lot of the rumors that are spread about him “people get the wrong impression about me when they first meet me. I don’t have an attitude problem, I walk like I do, but I actually don’t impose what you actually get, I’m quiet friendly” Just go and say hello and you might end up leaving with a cookie in your plate. "You want to know a secret, I'm not that good in English, and so what, I'm learning really hard to be one, I used to be embarrassed, but not anymore, not since I'm working on myself" he says. I don't know what to decide whether that's the cutest confession ever made by a rumored 'FAKE PERSON' or something to admire him for admitting, you choose for me.
But then, I have another theory, Ahmad is shy in a way and bold in another, you just have to catch him whenever. Instead, what overridingly came across is just how coyly he conducted himself throughout. No falseness, no fakeness, no rudeness. Same Ahmad, still rising, unassailable. In fact, probably more so.
