My Letter,
When you’re younger, you feel out of place, that you don’t belong! You just don’t fit in here, or anywhere, regardless what I’m talking about! As a gay person, “we” all face isolation, and most often in fact. No one knows what you’re going through, you’re just the only one who’s going through this, in some situations and different circumstances you are, in others you’re not! But this world shares similar pains, similar emotions, and similar differences.
Have you ever heard of the couture dress theory? No? Well, that’s because I just made it up! You go to this amazing shop with your friends, you look over the shelves the horses that are holding the clothes, you rifle through the hanged blazers, and there you go, a pretty one! But you see 3 twins of it, copies of that special piece, therefore, making it less special, but as you move along, you make eye contact with that couture piece of blazer in the end of the aisle; you can see it standing out all by itself in the store, special isn’t it? Just the one, no other piece and you feel oh, how alone, how me, how you! You relate to that couture piece…
Coming to terms of what’s now, a lot of us are discreet, no one knows of their other life, one to show, and one to hide. And you feel that kind of suppression, the one you get when you feel you can’t express yourself in the way you want, the way you feel for, but why? It’s our social intolerance, our closed minded society, religion manners and family traditions, that’s why! Yes, there is My.Kali.mag, which stands in the opposite of what is. When living in a world where you can be yourself without doubting yourself, with nothing to lose, you forget what feared you one time ago… but then I ask, ain’t I living in the same society? Ain’t the people that you see on our covers live in the same society? Don’t they face the same fears you face? They do, we all do, but we all find our ways to express ourselves. A friend once told me, "your life is a big circle, and within that big circle there’s smaller circles with multi interests and several loops that contains different sides of your life, and now, you’re centering your sexuality in that circle. You’re making that big circle, which is your life, revolving around your sexuality, concentrated about it, which deflects the rest of the other circles, the reflections of the other sides of your life, (which I forget about)". So at some point of my life, my sexuality was the center of my life, but I came to terms that it isn’t my whole life, it’s just a part of it. And when I came to that conclusion, things started to get much clearer, I started focusing on other sides of my life, being more active toward my ambitions, and once upon a time, my sexuality stopped ruling my world.
This month, we’ll try to help you find ways to express yourself. We found around 10 things you can find yourself through and express who you are through, with or without keeping your discretion. I know My.Kali.mag wasn’t considerate toward those who were and are discreet, but from now on, we will.

Regarding our (So late!) April cover, it came to my senses how misleading it is, how people could miss-understand its meaning. ‘The Jordanian Cucumber’ is an art piece worked by Belgium artist Tom Bogaert, which he resembled the Palestinian’s refugees choice, hence, Jordan in this art piece. Read more about his art work and particularly his recent work which featured on our April cover (left). Also MJ’s latest piece, where he discussed, which is hard to believe, yet much happening, the fear of sex.
