My.Kali.mag's Eye Candy
Yelling right out of a candy can, "Hey! I got Candy!” being freshly fab, full of colors and a total irresistible boy. Something about Yanal is different. Could it be the rainbow that is shooting out of his ears, or could it be the endless beam of his soul? Well it’s probably both! Yanal is all about milk and chocolate chip cookies, he’s the boy you want to become friends with. While he plays his games safe in such a hazardous community, still he gets to have sleep-overs fun with his best friends watching Will & Grace and obsessing about Karen Walker chewing gum and drinking milk right out a can, yet having Sex & The City moments, bashing about crappy dates and making fun of ex-boyfriends, above all that, he's the guy to keep all your secrets. This tween got My.Kali.mag's eyes over his new attitude and his new make over, wearing all the colored brands, smiling to the cam, and next thing we know, our photographer is eating candy-bears right off of his pierced stomach. Whenever you get to catch Yanal alone, reading a book or ordering another dish of chicken chunks, you’ll arrive home feeling stupid not approaching that table, or not even trying to talk to that new-to-be blond tween. Yanal got candy for us and for you too. He started wearing his smiles lately, pulling off the real laughs instead of a fake D&G shirt, looking hot, real, yummy and stunning. For sure the boy to sweat over, and for sure the boy to buy candy for!
Candy, candy, candy! What is it with all this candy?
[laughs]...well it's not only candy there, there are some coloring pens too, and to be honest candy is an expression for a new beginning in my life, for a colorful start and a yummy phase. To every one, colors and candy leads to a thread of happiness and that’s what I’m presenting now.
In the photo shoot, in your interview and in your pictures, you seem well and at most happy, vibrant, incredibly sexy, and color-ish even. What is it? What changed?
A lot really had changed in my life. Almost everything! I’m surrounded by a really good people who make me laugh all the time. The make-over of my life, my looks, my body, I feel more incredible and confident with each day that passes. Developing a good relation and more bonding with my family, and soon, leaving Amman to continue studying out. It’s pretty much soon and this is a big change for me.
Have you ever experienced rejection? Tell us about how you faced it?
mmmmm rejection. Every one did! For me I faced it badly right, in the face [laughs], literary. My ideas is a bit different on approaching people, and that what makes a person get rejected in many cases whether he was right or wrong, but still, I never give up on my approaches. I’m born stubborn!
What do you do with your best friends? Where do they stand in your life?
My friends are my life. They are my true family, and I believe that because they love me for who I am, not for other reasons. We do everything together, watch movies, shopping, telling jokes about each other, making fun of ex-boyfriends and crappy dates… everything! We go to play tennis at the tennis court, we end up gossiping about people we dislike and throwing balls on the people next to us! So yea, we do pretty much everything together!
What do your friends tease you about the most?
Tease me? Well I don't know, they don't. well, I’m lying off course! they say funny things like, that I’m originally Indian because of the mole I have on my forehead [laughs].
The time I watched “White Chicks” in the cinema, I peed a little on myself! What is the most embarrassing thing you’ve done?
That is a tough one. In the cinema, I was watching "Moulin Rouge" the premiere show, it was in the middle of exams time, so no one could go with me, so I went by myself. I was surrounded by girls [laughs]. Then at the end of the movie I cried for real. As in weeping and crying like a baby [laughs]. Now, the girl on the right gave me a tissue, so then the girl on the left thought that the one on my right is with me. So she asked her if she could stop me from crying. Now the girl on the right told her "I thought he was with you" shortly after they both knew that I was alone, they both started to cry because I was alone, that was really, really embarrassing [laughs].
What about the bravest?
I do consider myself pretty brave. I’d mostly do anything. I don’t know about you, but for me, moving to another city and living by myself could be the bravest thing I’m about to do. It's kind of scary, but I’ll do it.
If you were asked to wear a charm-bracelet, what charms would you put on the bracelet in this stage of your life?
A star, because I’m living a phase where I believe I could reach anything. A key, for the locked doors in my life that I’m about to open and reopen again. A peace sign, because, ok this might sound like Sandra in one the Congeniality films, but I believe in world peace, truly.
Would you say you know yourself better now?
I Pretty much do, I’m not saying I won’t have those times were I’ll feel lost and don’t know what to do or who I am, but I know what I want and I go for it right away.
Have you ever been surrounded with bad people? Have you ever been surrounded with good people? What are the most things that changed you through both?
i was surrounded with both kinds, good and bad. Well now i have to know people very well before trusting them. I used to trust people very easily and that was wrong.
Every body in a certain age or point of their lives faces a dark phase. What was the turning point for you?
My turning point for me was attempting suicide! I reached a point where I realized that there is nothing afterwards, nothing. But I also realized that there’s nothing will be as exciting (as life) after death. I mean there is nothing worth killing yourself for. I started to see and believe that there are people out there who love me and care for me. I believe in the saying: “Often the test of courage is not to die but to live.” I don’t know, I feel alive, I feel I’m reborn again.
What made you change?
Basically, my friends and the help of my family. My friends had stood by me, and supported me, they gave me a lot and I don't know how to thank them enough. This might look like i'm stealing one of Celine Dion's lyrics, but my family was my stronger hand when it was weak; they have all been like angels to me. And that’s when I realized I had love in my life.
What can you tell the people who thought or are thinking about suicide?
There’s nothing afterwards! Suicide accompanies your thoughts by your worst evil when you’re weak at most, and you can’t let that red-little voice take out your life. If I can do it, you can, and remember, again, it’s that evil voice who assures you that there isn’t anyway out, no one to love, and there’s no help, while if you look closely you’ll find it, in your diary, in your friends’ hugs, in your mom’s kisses. So never give up, never give up on yourself, cause how could you give up on yourself when I believe in you?! Think twice.
Who do you turn in for support?
My Mom and Dad. My close friends. I know it's shocking but after what happened my dad had changed a lot. We didn’t not get along, and I considered our relationship to be the worst ever, but now it's better than perfect, knock on wood [laughs]. My mom was always there for me. My friends are even jealous from the relationship I have with my mom [laughs]. And my friends, no one can believe the way they’ve supported me.
Gossip, rumors, blab bla bla…how do you handle them?
I used to hate them, but now I say more, give me more [laughs]. When people gossip about you, it means they are jealous, or they can't do the things your doing, also you're worth talking about. Trust me, I've been there with the interesting dirt, so I know what I’m talking about.
In this world a lot is going on from hunger in Somalia, to Aids in Africa, global warming, testing on animals, gay marriages and executions in some countries. What do you think of this world? Where do your feet stand in all of this?
My words may say nothing but, what a horrible world, really horrible world. What’s even worse are the people who are dieing of AIDS because of the ignorance that is. I’m very much standing on this issue, that's why I volunteered in "The National AIDS Program in Jordan". I'm trying to help, and I’m willing to do more. People must get protected from this destructive monster, by education, which is increasing and by more awareness on this issue, which you either use protection or not have sex at all.
What's On Yanalicious's Mind?
In a movie, who would play you? (Explanation)
Antonio banderas, I love him he is great actor, sexy, passionate, tough, soft. I think he’ll imitate all the expressions I have right way.
Why do you like My.Kali.mag? What’s so special about it?
It’s the first and the boldest magazine I ever read. It has all these unexpected helpful articles which are unusual. Kali is a person who I want to read and you do get to relate to the articles. Plus the title itself is catchy; it’s really interesting to know its meaning. This magazine fights for it’s self really hard. I like the subjects the writers go for, they’re really magnificent. Making Kali the missing mysterious piece in all of us.
After My.Kali.mag, what’s after that for you?
well I’m not a model or anything, but photo shooting is a thing i'm good at. So that's a thing I’m looking forward to do. This is a start for a new life, for a new ambition and for a new bravery to take the lead of my life.
