Don’t you love when there’s a guy who is sexy and not knowing it? Man-crush what Danish sweet heart Gorm Olesen is all about for you and that stalking notebook of yours! He’s the guy to flatter your shoes without any hidden agendas. He’s also the guy to party with the gays, yet dating the sexiest girls.
He gives away his charming smiles to all the good people, unconsciously bragging that sexy look of his through his blue eyes, teenage freckles he kept, and those gapped oh-so-sexy teeth, Gareth Gates anyone? Yet not to forget a note on his well built body. Bummer is what it is, however, he’s the honest type you’d want to get his opinion regardless, he’s the guy to appreciate your beauty and make you the star infront of his camera, and forward enough to dare and say, he’s the guy you’d wish he’s gay!
This frock-English lad looking, Gorm, 28, is an Information Science bachelor degree seeker and a Danish cupcake with many talents to show. One, being a new comer photographer while taking real-life pictures with real emotions of beings around. Another is, appreciating the gay life in Amman more than ever with all its fun blast, (yes it’s a talent for us, and no we’re not hitting on the guy!) Being in Jordan, Gorm viewed many sides of culture amazements, differences and experiences. Interacting with the local gay community is one, and knowing what befriending them felt like, getting touched by some of their stories and sharing some of his…
So My.Kali.mag spun the bottle with Gorm and him only, dare to know more?
So in a circle of tween talk, or whatever, ever spun the bottle toward kissing a guy? Ever did anyways?
Well, yea, but not as you think, I was in this party, and there were two girls kissing, which is common and ok in Denmark. Anyways so me and my friend kissed as well. We were trying to make fun of the girls, so why not two guys kissing? Won’t that turn the girls on? We were just goofing around.
Did you feel anything after the kiss?
Not really, as I said we were just goofing around, and my friend was in on the joke though he’s straight. He’s the kind of person who would goof around in such areas. Plus in my country, it’s ok for guys to make out with other guys like such stories when they don’t mean anything! It’s also ok for guys to dance with others guys.
You don’t find two girls kissing sexy?
Mmm, no! I guess it’s not the image that would turn me on. I prefer to be the one making out with the girl.
What makes a good competition in a guy toward Gorm?
Ah, good question. Well, intelligent funny guys who takes the attention on the table, I guess that would makes a good guy to compete with, cause I feel the same. I like to be the center of attention but not as much as I did when I was younger.
Have you ever felt threatened by a gay guy?
Mmm at times, especially if he’s a best friend to a girl I’m dating. Once, I was going out with this girl who had a gay guy as a best friend and they sleep together in the same bed, and I felt a bit jealous, it was like ‘ah, I want that’ if I think about it too much it would be a crazed arena!
If you want to kiss or do it with a celeb guy, who would it be with?
Well, I actually never thought of it, but it would be Bruce Willis. I think he’s cool. He’s so macho and his movies are great, so it would be great to see how cool he is in real life, you know hang out…and if you insist, kiss!
"...they’d go 'oh he must be
gay' I just hate that, not
because I hate gay people or
anything, but because I like to
be identified as straight..."
What would be comfortable telling a gay guy, but not a straight guy or a woman?
Well I guess telling what male celebrity I would make-out with! Guys in general don’t ever talk about such things, actually never. Plus I don’t see gay guys as you’d view them, I see them just like another regular guys with different sexual preference, so I talk to a gay guy just like I talk to a straight guy.
You’ve spent quiet a time with the local gay community here in Jo. What kind of impression did you form?
Its fun having them around, I also got to know them better, got closer to see what kind of lives they lead. In Jordan it’s still a conservative country where homosexuality is prohibited and denied, and as I see my gay friends suffer from such severs, I can’t stop but think about the difference of both cultures, and I know it’s a long way to go, and I can’t imagine the things they deal with daily. The stories they tell me, the pressure they face, I can’t imagine.
In a way, I don’t think that homosexuals got their rights 100% in anywhere in the world, at least not all, and I hate that, cause they’re like anyone else, human.
You’re comfortable with your sexuality as a hetro to dance with the gays, tell us about that.
I think it’s the difference of both cultures. In Jordan it’s odd to dance with a guy, but in Denmark, it’s so ok doing that, with friends, anyone really. And it doesn’t matter if I goof around with guys, or dance with guys, cause it’s very common in my country. You see, we’re raised in a very open minded culture; it’s not difficult for me. But something I disliked, that people in Jordan may assume I’m gay because I’m comfortable with my heterosexuality to dance with other guys, they’d go “oh he must be gay” I just hate that, not that because I hate gay people or anything, but because I like to be identified as straight and not from sombody’s assumption.
Ever a guy hit on you?
Kind of, I was in a party dancing with my friends, and suddenly a guy I was talking to pinched my butt then it developed into a grab, I was uncomfortable and I just removed his hand. But in circle of fun, I don’t mind it. Last week we went to this pub in Jabal Amman with our friends, and I was goofing around with my shy gay friend by pinching his butt to make him uncomfortable which was hilarious, make things worse I grabbed his hand toward my butt telling him ‘oh come on, grab it properly man!’ he turned orange! He’s so shy.
Ever been invited to a gay wedding?
Unfortunately no. Not yet.
Ok, if you ever get invited to a gay wedding, what wedding gift you’d get them? What kind of gift are we talking about?
I’d probably get them hand cuffs, the pink furry ones! That would be fun to handel while kissing one of the grooms on the cheek.
What kind of advantages gay guys have and get, but straight guys don’t?
I guess the idea that gay guys care a lot about others’ approval for acceptance and so on, they tend to be very open minded which allows them to be more open to life, interacting with many different things, meeting new people and so on. While it’s a bit difficult to have straight guys as open minded as the gay community. I think that’s a good advantage to own. By means, accepting others as they are...
If you were a gay guy, what would you be doing right now?
Other than dancing on bars and kissing famous guys… I think I’d be living in San Francisco where it’s loaded with gays, doing what the rest of the gay guys do I guess, but I’d have a photography shop, like Harvey Milk. Funny that I mentioned that, cause I am a photographer and I’d like to be profeesional one day. More yet, I’d be fighting for gay rights as well.
Did you like watching ‘Milk’?
Yea, it’s a very nice movie, it was really well acted. Also empowering to their demands. It was a bit long, and I felt sad at the end when ‘Harvey’; Sean Penn, died. But it was interesting knowing all those facts, seeing all the hard situations they’ve gone through, and feeling their pain.
