Date #4: A very tidy thief!
The morning after!
This date has happened with a bi sexual guy, (no offence to any of the bisexuals out there):
It was the weekend, and my friend invited me to come along with him to this random in-house party, I had no plans what so ever, and weekend in-house parties in Amman are to die for, and without holding back I accepted. At the party, I met this cute guy, as we held a conversation he seemed classy and charming. After a while, we exchanged numbers. The very next night he called, we talked over an hour on the phone, he later suggested to go for dinner the next day to know each other more. Again, without holding back I said yes! I mean a guy asks you for dinner in Amman, you can't find them like that anymore, plus it all played like a Hollywood classic in my mind.
Next day, night, dinner…la la la… Now, after the dinner, he asked me to come back to his place for a drink, as he lives further away from the area, I hesitated, but decided otherwise. Reaching his place, I got drunk there, then I was really tried to go back home, and as he insisted to stay the night, I was in no place to argue. The next day when I woke up, he was hollering around saying "Oh my God, a thief entered while we were sleeping!" Lies! Defiantly didn't buy it, because the thief only stole my I-pod (which took forever to get)! I knew that he stole it, but didn't admit so. I was helpless to do anything because first, I was embarrassed. And second, I was at his place, which is far. Suddenly he announces that his friend is on his way to visit, which was obviously my Q to leave. As I excused myself he offered to drop me off, I refused and stepped out. What a night! Guys come in classic ways, but leave with smashing hits!
Date #5: That's not my name!
The Ex ghost!
I was with my mum in the mall, when my mum wanted to go to the toilet, so I walked her there and waited outside. This guy came up to me and asked me if he can use my cell phone to call his' to check if his phone was working, off course I saw passed that and didn't hesitate as he was incredibly good looking. "Sure, what’s your number?" I asked. And after I beeped him and make sure his phone was working, he thanked me and left. I was expecting a call anytime from him, and as my expectations didn't fail me, he called that night. We agreed to meet and grab dinner. We decided to meet the day after for dinner at his place. When I went there the following day, I couldn’t believe how he prepared the setting, soft music, amazing dinner, candles and everything. Soon after dinner we started kissing and a bit more (well, a little more of "under the shirt action"!), you'd think a third date details, but a second's beats the third's in my case!
During, he was calling me with his ex's-name; I thought wow it slipped, hmmm embarrassing for him, much! But not until it reoccurred several times minutes after, I realized what I was dealing with. Shockingly, he kept calling me Farah! A she?! "Why did you do this to me… I love you Farah" he kept saying! Again, a she?!
At that moment I got up and dressed quickly and said "I'm really sorry, I hope your ex girlfriend will come back to you, I need to leave now, bye". I was afraid that he won't let me leave; I mean we've seen how this goes in the movies!
Date #6: Dinner for two, and two more!
The uninvited posse!
Okay I usually don’t go out with a guy before I see how looks like, I usually ask to do C2C (cam to cam), but that time I looked like mess, so we exchanged numbers online and we talked for 10 minutes through the phone, he seemed nice. So we arranged to meet the next day for coffee. We decided to meet in Jabal Amman in front of this old nice café.
I arrived there and waited for 10 minutes outside, and then he arrived. He picked me up and we went to the rainbow street. And not until we reached a place called Batata I started to worry! There were two girls waiting in front of the place, one of them wearing a red short dress and the other is wearing jeans with a cute top. He stopped the girl and said "Oh, these are my friends, let me pick them, maybe they need a lift" I kept quiet, cause I knew this was a sort of a play right from the look on the girls' faces. It looked as they knew he was coming. He introduced me and then said that I'm gay, and they were like "really? Oh how cute" I tried to excuse myself out and said that I had to leave, but they were so insisting. And I found myself having dinner with them. After a while, they started asking me all types of questions, what do you do? Do you have a boyfriend? Does your family know? What’s gay sex like? What's your religion?... made me really uncomfortable. I looked at the guy and told him "nice one, disrespectful much?" then I headed to the door. He wasn’t gay! You'd think a straight guy on Manjam or dar is quite the show. Now that's a scene!
Date #7: Huh? didn't get it!
The kiss and tell, NOT!
This was with a guy I know, we've met several times through mutual friends in gatherings, but on peculiar night, it was going to be only me and him, as he asked me out. We decided to go to the movies, as a gentleman he should pay and he did, as the American gay dating book noted: you asked, you pay! After we got popcorn, we walked to the movie, and as we were on our way to enter he asked me to pay him back, I laughed and said okay. I mean wow, he's funny too!
After the movie finished I paid him to play along, then he told me that he was joking, but still managed to take it and shove it down his pocket! I didn't get the joke, huh?! After he dropped me back home, I decided that he defiantly didn’t deserve a goodnight kiss, cheap move on his side, and a cheap one on mine, so I just left the car and ran to tell my friends about it.
After reading about my 7 dates of hell, I bet they brought few laughs, but hopefully shed a tear along with me, LOL. And as funny and disastrous these dates are, some unmentioned ones that I keep to myself and share privately, have given me strength, hope, faith and a will to love... as some were special and not all like the ones written above.
I'm sure while you're reading some of these dates you thought of how dumb I was to do this or not to do that. But sometimes, moments like those could be frightening to handle, and if put yourself in my shoe, you won't know how you would react at the moment, or let's just say, I hope I'd be as strong and confident as some of you are someday guys. I really deeply wish after you read this, to take lesson from every single date and watch out for the rotten fruits! LOL again!
