Saudi's Own Madonna!
Talking numbers:
5-years Jail... 500 lashes!
Gaydar Radio, and the GME had announced shocking news that a Saudi Arabian gay man has been arrested and sentenced to a 5-years in jail for publishing nude photos of himself, as reported in Saudi-Arabian paper paper ‘Okaz’; 3okath. Back in March (2010), the 27 year old guy was arrested and was involved in 3 charges against him. Was charged with homosexuality, endangering general security, and impersonating a police officer (click here>). The guy who played a seducer police officer in the car was accused for identity theft of a security police officer which was all really a miss-understood foreplay-game (which is stupid really)! The media and the authorities kept going on talking about the incident so cluelessly not knowing what the real agenda was. The guy was lashed 500 times for engaging in homosexual acts, acting feminine and posting obscene photos of himself. The penalty came after the spread of the video on the internet allegedly sent via Bluetooth from inside the Briman prison, showing the man imitating a woman and turning into an explicit talk about sex. The Prison Administration has, however, denied that the short clip was filmed there. This Madonna-guy, who has became a phenomena in Saudi Arabia for playing the ‘love game’ in the gayest way ever and so openly. I don’t know if we should call it bravely stupid or gayly-courageous! All we know that he has been on the radar since March, and now facing 5-years in jail. At least he's about to be known to be Saudi's own Madonna, playing the sex game where you shouldn't! BUT our heart is with him...

Living Well talks Lesbianism...
The June 2010 issue of Living Well magazine has just hit the stands of Jordan (<left), revealing 3 bold titles on the cover… one that grabbed our attention was: ‘Other Option, the secret lives of women’. Article ‘secret Society’, written by Susana Mendoza, had discussed the matters of being a lesbian in Jordan, where the writer also had met with 3 lesbian women, who talked openly about their sexuality (not out). Each woman talked about her struggle, fear and how they’re dealing with what we call “society’s pressure”. The article was done by the collaboration of My.Kali.mag, although Miss Mendoza did misspell the name of the magazine: My.Khali! Oops, missed on that one Miss M.! Although the cover title and the inside title are pretty vague toward its contents, the article is very enlightening, heartfelt and out reaching, which makes up for their December 2008 miss-guided article. You go LW, by publishing such piece, it shows how the independent media in Jo had over came it’s under minded taboo subs.
The June2010 issue of Living Well magazine could be found on stands now in all markets and book shops that distribute magazines.

Jordan's 1st LGBT Support Group on FB!
It’s right about time! Jordan has finally an FB LGBT support group. And they say FaceBook is a waste of time, well, let’s not go there. The group is created in order to support LGBT people in Jordan and from all around the world. “Do not tolerate intolerance” we quote. Jordan had pretty much evolved coming to LGBT terms, with the presence of the net, the idea of ‘self-expressing phobias’ isn’t an issue any more. Leaving a free space for other people to be themselves and discover a new world. Support group? Care to join? Well log on FB and add them, check their page (here>)
Local Stand:
Jouhina magazine: " ...could homosexuality be cured?"
Headline: “Homosexuality… socially and legally unacceptable!” Lebanese magazine, Jouhina (<Left), had published a piece on sexuality and lesbianism (in Arabic) in their latest issue. The article is pretty basic over what sexuality is, a little understudied, and quite untrusted, and you could sense that the writer went on to be a little personal with her Q’s, using big words and low keys when it came to the article, laying the issue as it is! The writer used words like unnatural, sickness, and unethical, leaving no space or what so ever to understand the concept of what sexuality is. The writer also has met with 3 young women for each one to talk about her experience with sexuality.
You can read the article (in Arabic) online, directly from the magazine’s official website (here>)
The April 2010 issue of Jouhina magazine (still stands) could be found on stands now in all markets and book shops that distribute magazines.

DC's TNG post:
Dare not to Love Khalid?
The Washington DC gay online post, The New Gay had featured Jordanian model Khalid in an article under the title “Modeling Tolerance”, and fronting its home page for the day! In an interview with The New Gay, Khalid had talked about his sexuality while growing up, his insecurities, and being an out model in Amman. The article pointed out Khalid's combination of sexuality and fashion, forming a new story of what's original and unusual! The article seeks a new image of the LGBT community in Amman that Khalid presents to the US audience. Khalid continued to talk about a less judgmental Jordan, Kali's world, what encapsulate his personal style, and his personal politics when it comes to personal fashion! Dare to say “Again!”? read more to know Amman’s “IT” (here>)
